recording project

We are excited to announce that we will be recording and releasing our debut album!

By partnering with us on this recording project you are sharing your passion for new music and helping us bring contemporary classical music to a wider audience around the globe.

What Is Noise is dedicated to building community through music, and we do this by introducing audiences to the music of our time. We work closely with composers whose music we perform, allowing us to effectively communicate their message in a deeply personal way. Every member of this ensemble is dedicated to bringing this music to life to connect with the composers we collaborate with, the students we teach, and the audiences who share our passion for music.

This album will enable us to better connect the communities we visit with the music we perform in live concerts and educational programs. This album provides an opportunity for students and community members to connect with musicians, composers, and the culture of contemporary classical music beyond the programs and concerts we provide.

The recording will be produced and engineered by Gordon Van Gent and the Overneath Creative Collective. We are also in the process of establishing a relationship with a record label that will internationally distribute our recording. We will record in July 2017 and hope to release the album in the fall. The album will include pieces that we have performed frequently over the past year:

Steven Stucky - Ad Parnassum
Lansing McLoskey - Requiem, v. 2.001
David T. Little - Descanso (waiting)
Joshua Burel - Roanoke

We would be honored to have you partner with us in our mission of building communities through music and helping us promote the music of our time. None of this is possible without the generous support of people like you.

From our hearts to yours, thank you, for your continued support. None of this would be possible without you.
